Tilia tomentosa - Silver Lime - €20 per tree
Silver lime is so called because the underside of its leaves have a characteristic silvery colour that is particularly visible when the wind blows, shining a brilliant glow in the sunshine. It's a tree that grows in sunny spaces or under partial shade. In the wild it is seen in places with a continental climate, particularly in forests where young plants take advantage of the shade offered by other trees. Once established it has an extensive and expansive root system but can be transplanted into its permanent position relatively late at around 5 years old. It makes a beautiful tree to grow in an avenue or as an ornamental. To order this plant please email [email protected]
