Ficus carica - 'Michurinska 10' 
  • Description - Possibly one of the hardiest figs in the world.  It grows vigorously and can reache 5 m in height. Produces an abundance of small and tasty fruits.   
  • Fruiting Period -  From late July - early Oct when summers are hot and winters an cold. 
  • Hardiness - Hardiness (USDA) Zone 5 - 23 C. Above ground damage occurs at around -16 to -19 C. Even with temperatures below -23 C the plant will regrow from the base in spring and can provide fruit the same year in some circumstances.
  • Pollination -  This fig will produce without pollination, but may give two crops in the prescence of a caprifig such as Brunswick
  • Disease Resistance -No pest or disease problems
  • Storage - 2 -3 days with refrigeration
  • Drying - Good for drying, cut into halves the figs dry well in a few days and store very well when dried. In a hot and dry summer the figs can be left on the tree to dry.

Ficus carica - 'Brown Turkey'  ​ 
  • Description - Excellent taste, tender flesh, juicy and sweet.  It grows vigorously and can reach 7 m in height. 
  • Fruiting Period -  From August- Sep. Can produce two crops quite well in warm European climates.
  • Hardiness -   Hardiness (USDA) Zone 6 - 18 C.  Less hardy than 'Michurinska 10' but planted in a sheltered position we have found the plant to survive our harshest winters here
  • Pollination - This fig will produce without wasp pollination
  • Disease Resistance - No pest or disease problems
  • Storage - 2 -3 days with refrigeration
  • Drying -  Good for drying
