Rowan - Sorbus aucuparia - €10 per plant - 3rd Year sapling
The Rowan's mythic roots go back to classical times and in Britain the Rowan has a long and still popular history in folklore. Said to offer protection against witchcraft and enchantment, the Rowan tree has a wide range of popular names, the most commonly used being mountain ash. It is an excellent small tree making a superb centre piece or a good choice for the lower canopy of a forest garden. The wood is strong and used often in carving. The berries are rich in vitamin C and a good source of nutrition for birds. To order this plant please contact us balkanecologyproject@gmail.com.
