White currant - Ribes rubrum cv. - €9
per plant
White currant is a cultivar of the red currant native to parts of Western Europe but is also widely cultivated elsewhere, proving very popular in the kitchen with a well established reputation for being the main ingredient in many sauces and jellies. It is often found on river banks and in damp, shady deciduous woodland making it a perfect candidate for the woodland garden shrub layer. Established plants can produce an abundance of nutritious and tasty fruit. The berries are translucent and delicate to look at, and very rich in vitamin C. The plants we offer are 1year old bare root plants that should start to produce fruit the next season after planting. To order this plant please contact us [email protected].
