Wild Sour Cherry - Prunus cerasus - €15 per plant
An excellent late cropping Cherry producing abundant fruit. As the name suggests the fruit is more acidic than sweet cherry. When left to ripen the fruit can be very sweet and has greater nutritional benefits than sweet cherry cultivars. Unlike most sweet cherry varieties, sour cherries are self fertile or self pollenizing and will produce fruit as a solo tree. The trees produce white blossoms in May, and the fruits ripen in July . The plants tolerate moderate trimming and can grow well exposed to the wind making them suitable for hedges and windbreak planting.
