Passion Flower - Pasiflora edulis - €11 per plant
Passiflora edulis, commonly called purple passionfruit, is a shallow-rooted, tendril-climbing, evergreen vine that is in leaf year round. Passionfruit flowers are well recognised and highly ornamental, as well as attracting a wide range of pollinators. They open for one day only, so to ensure good cops of fruit, hand pollinating the flowers can be useful. Blooming typically begins in late May through to July. Once ripe, fruits can be eaten straight off the vine. This vine can be grown in containers on a sunny porch, deck or patio and overwinter indoors in a greenhouse or sunroom.
