N.poeticus are spring flowering bulbs, providing a welcome source of food for bees and other pollinators in early - mid spring. Very popular as an ornamental plant, these flowers are a welcome addition to beds and border. Easily grown in full sun or partial shade these elegant flowers thrive in moist soil. Known Hazards

  • All parts of the plant, and especially the bulb, are poisonous. The aroma of the flowers can cause some people to get a headache when they are in a closed room.

  • Avoid planting single bulbs, Small groups are best, slowly spreading over time to form large colonies. Note that overly congested clumps will eventually fail to flower and can be divided if this is the case just after the foliage dies back.
